I believe that nature is the best medicine and so many of our common ailments can be solved or prevented through healthy habits such as eating healthy, exercising, and reducing toxic load.   I love them so much that I have started incorporating them into my business. I’m sharing my journey with weekly classes on how to use essential oils in your life and my story about how I used them when I got my wisdom teeth out and when I got stung by a jellyfish! February Fruition

Now is the time to kick some asana and manifest our continuing goals! Watching a goal come to fruition, large or small, is one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences in life. When your soul calls you to action, your daily efforts become a labor of love. Let’s make time to reflect, measure forward progress, and focus on the positive affirmation of growth! Let’s acknowledge successes to minimize the impact of the unexpected bumps in the road. Are you setting yourself up for success or failure in 2014?  By now most of us have set the bar high for new aspirations and goals for this year. How amazing to clear the clutter of the past and jumpstart into the present 2014! New beginnings help us to create the best versions of ourselves. Statistic says that only 9% of people actually achieve their New Year’s Resolution by the end of the next year. Why such small rates of success? How can you stand out of the crowd and hit your mark? Here is my recommended recipe for success in 2014! 1. Set goals that are both CHALLENGING and REALASITC The 93% percent of people who do not meet their goal create unrealistic goals. Set yourself up for success by  creating a goal that will fit in to your current lifestyle. For example, a lot of people want to get in shape for the new year but might currently only work out once a month. Setting a goal to work out every day in 2014 is almost impossible to achieve because it requires a very large shift in current lifestyle. A more realistic goal is to work out once a week for January, twice a week for February, and so on, until the working out IS every day! 2. Set a realistic plan of ACTION and MOTIVATION to achieve that goal  Success is contingent upon action. We are all big dreamers and very few are big actualizers. What is the difference?  Successful people are constantly motivated to ACT. Make sure that you have a goal that gets you excited to achieve! Find ways to remind yourself about your purpose and your commitment to success. Just like building a house, you have to start with the foundation. What are the bricks that need to be laid first in order to create your goal? Create a solid plan, stick to it, and success is a guarantee.  3. Be PICKY Manifestation is most easily achieved through specifics. How will you recognize what you are looking for if you don’t even know what ideal looks like, feels like, or even tastes like? For example, if your goal is to find a new lover don’t just let anyone walk into your life! Who is your ideal mate? What are the characteristics that you value most in a partner? Describe his/her ideal personality. What does he/she like to do in their free-time? What does this person do for a living? What does this person look like? Be as specific as you can so that when your meet your goal you can recognize that you have manifested your dreams.  4. VISUALIZE achieving that goal and the feeling of success as often as you can Whenever your mind wanders to your goal or you are in action to your goal take a moment to embody success. The most important time to visualize is when you are near defeat! How does success feel in your body? Imagine how you will react to achieving your goal. What physical expression can you see yourself doing when you cross that finish line? Will it be high fives, jumping, fist pumps, or a touchdown dance? The more often you see the outcome of success, the more likely it is to happen. 5. Lastly, use the BUDDY System  Achieving a goal is like walking across the street when you are 5 years old. You are trying something new and this can be really scary!  The best solution is to find someone to help you achieve your goal and hold you accountable to achieving it. Get a buddy! Share your goals and keep each other on track. You can also set a reminder in your phone to help you stay committed. Your buddy can help eliminate procrastination and instead create action when you get stuck! Goal reaching requires a shift or a change in behavior. Change takes a lot of effort, time, and patience. Be realistic, be persitent, be optimistic, be diligent and you will hit your goal!  I am here to support you on your journey and with your personal goals. ~Namaste~

Can’t get enough pumpkin this season? Try these delicious fall pancakes. They are great to fuel up your fall weekends and they are very easy to make. This recipe makes 6 pancakes and takes 20min to prepare. Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour or gluten free flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1/3 cup packed pumpkin puree
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
Directions In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sea salt, and spices to the bowl. Add in almond milk, pumpkin, coconut oil (softened), vanilla, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Stir well until chunks are broken up and there is a nice viscous get a bit runny consistency. If need be add more almond milk. In a large skillet ( I use cast iron) or pancake griddle, melt 1/2Tbsp of coconut oil and set heat to low/med. Once the oil is melted add in a few dollops of batter to the center of the pan. Cook 2-3 min on each side. Wait until the pancake stops bubbling to flip. Use a firm spatula to flip in case the pancake sticks to the pan. I love to heat up a little maple syrup to drizzle on top. Also, you can add bananas and chopped walnuts for an extra treat.
